I am wondering if it is better to lateral in as a non equity partner or as a senior counsel. I keep hearing that the senior counsel role is better and less stress but I am wondering if the NEP role offers more job security because it should be easier to bring in clients and keep yourself busy.

Recently laid off from a top 10 firm in LA after 7 years in PA. I’d been with the firm since college but now not sure whether i want to try and get back to PA or pivot to private or something else. Really trying to figure out my plan but feel so negative towards everything job-related. any suggestions where to begin? I need to find something I semi-enjoy since It’s unlikely I’ll marry a rich husband or win the lottery before my savings runs out.

After the mental beat down that was grad school, I’m happy to have straightforward tasks and mentally coast, but my attys want me to start studying for the patent bar asap.
