I am working in Product Manager roles from past 6 years. Want to have experience of Consulting (have an offer from a Big4). Would I be able to switch back to PM role after few years ? (planning to stay in consulting for minimum 3-4 years)

I’ve been an engineer for my entire career (10 years), and I’m curious about what a move to product management would be like. I would love to hear experiences from those who have spent the bulk of their time in one role and then moved to a product management role. Did you enjoy the move or do you miss your old position?

Why are we as a group not so active in helping each other ? I understand there are many members who joined with aspirations to learn DS. But existing members from DS are not active. Sad sorry

I am expecting an offer from Master Card for Senior Software Engineer position in O Fallon MO. Please let me know what kind of base salary I can expect with 11 yrs experience . I don’t wanna undersell but also trying to avoid being aggressive but quote a decent number which will be achievable. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Is 125k $ base a fair value for or I can pitch higher? They have a 15 to 20 % bonus on top of base pay and a 10% match on 401k which the recruiter keep highlighting.

However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then.
