I deleted my LinkedIn today.

I was laid off in July of 2022. I had over 800 connections with 700+ followers and still have not been able to get a viable lead on any job. So I finally deleted it.

I’ve rewritten my resume and applied to over 1000 positions since I’ve been laid off. I’ve had a handful of interviews, hundreds of rejections literally within hours of submitting applications for jobs I am either qualified or over qualified for.

It’s ROUGH out there.

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞
