I don't report directly into my executive. This is the first time in my career that its been this way. It's not necessarily bad but it kind of makes it harder to "bond" with my executive and I don't like that "disconnection".
Is there anyone here with a similar reporting line structure. What was your experience like, the pros and the cons?

It's a first for me too but haven't found it as difficult. I suggested in the beginning setting up 15 min a week if the schedule allowed it to chat about needs for the week, see how things are going, and general updates. I've found I have a much better relationship with the execs I've done that with. As far as pros and cons go, a pro is that if I have a difficult exec, my manager is willing to step in if necessary. My manager is also a huge advocate of moving to different areas and growing if I want it. Cons, probably not as much face time if I'm not actively pursuing it, especially if there are less reasons to speak.

The con is what concerns me the most. Thanks for sharing your perspective

ive never reported to my executives, ive always had an admin manager. i think it also depends if the executive wants to "bond" with you. sometimes there are some that just dont and it's very transactional.

Interesting! I'm glad it's working well for you. 🩵

To those at V25 firms, how do you view your London office in terms of the quality of work we get and overall importance to the firm? Be brutally honest.

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?
