I don’t understand which is more important (that may be the wrong way to phrase this) but work or the CPA exam. Because the firms place such a heavy emphasis on passing the CPA, yet, I have not had time to study or anything in the past few weeks (I know it’s busy season) to get me closer to passing the exam. I understand you have to work and they pay you to work and most pay for your study materials. But also I feel like I can’t focus on work knowing I have to pass & study for the exam…

I have heard that people working on Goldman Sachs projects have higher visibility than others. Please advise whether I should join as I will be assigned to non-GS project.

I’m not naive or fresh out of law school, but I’m at a point where I’m saying to myself “Why can’t I have it all?” I’ve been offered a job for more pay and less hours and I keep thinking to myself, what’s the catch? I know people will say no promotion potential or that’s not how it works…but what if it could? What if you make yourself valuable by still setting your boundaries? Why would we resent someone who has that opportunity?

Starting a new job at Applied Materials on Monday as a Manufacturing Engineer III. I’ve been out of college for 5 years and all of my work experience till now has been in R&D for start ups and small businesses . So not only is this a new experience for me going into such a large company but also a industry (semiconductors). I’m currently doing large scale Oracle ERP implementation and I am having difficulty finding companies that hire entry level roles. I switch fields recently so I only have around 9 months of experience and I find that most ServiceNow position requires 2+year in ServiceNow :/

Need your inputs, I have experience in Java Automation for past 2 years.. now my yet join company is using Ruby for Automation. Not a big deal in learning about ruby. Only worried about that if I continue here, in process of learning ruby I might have unlearn java. If I need to come out then openings on Automation with ruby in the market is pretty much less I think..

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.

Hello, I have been with the same company for 17 years. I am a supervisor for a laboratory in patient services. I worked my way up and currently have no degrees. Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. I have an offer for $130k for a senior attorney position in a boutique L&E firm. Also have a recruiter who thinks she can get me into another for $150-170k. Question - my 18month clock stops Oct end. I have one exam left. If I test this month end for my last exam, but the results come in Nov (and hopefully I pass) will that still expire the credit for my first exam? Or I should be good?

Hi please give me guidance. I am studing for far. And it is sooo much material. I am a tax person so it’s a lot. I am done with chapter 3. I have off until this Thursday. How much are you expecting in raise/promotion or exit opps for having the CPA title and credentials?

I’ve taken FAR a few times at this point. I got two 74s and this past one I got a 70. I felt like the last exam (which was a few weeks ago) was extremely harder than the other ones. Has anyone else noticed the exam getting extremely tough? Or do you think I just got a one off?

I’m so happy to say that after about 5 years of being here, I’m finally done with the exam!!! In a world full of internet trolls, it was so refreshing to be on this thread while we all cheered for each other and pushed each other to climb over our failures and discouragements.
