I feel like a failure. Last Monday our school announced that we will be virtual for the first four weeks (and assessing every month). All around me, even before the announcement, moms (no dads) coordinated tutors, nannies and pods with other kids in the same age groups. All of this while I was working 10+ hours/day (95% in meetings), arranging playdates/activities for my kids for the next few weeks, organizing the fam, etc. I feel so behind!

I’ve been working to an unhealthy degree lately. And I’ve been making the excuse that I have a lot of work right now, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m addicted to it. Part of it is anxiety and perfectionism. But my behavior is now actively harmful to myself and starting to harm my marriage.

How do I stop? I’m not talking work-life balance. I mean, how do I say, “I don’t care that the client wants this tomorrow and I’m not close to done, I’m going to sleep tonight”?

How have you combated your fear of rejection? I fixate on such small things as when my friends, for example, reject plans I have made. This definitely makes me more averse to putting myself out there and makes me ruminate on past perceived failures, which are clearly not good for personal growth

Advice or Book recommendations on how not to get bothered by others/ friends/ peers? What they think or what they do!
