No one is behind, because no one knows where they’re going! It’s uncharted. Give yourself some grace. Your children will still be getting an education. Even if they had a nanny/tutor/pod, they’d be dealing with a huge change nonetheless. No one is going to get this right, the kids will be alright, and us moms will be too.
I can totally relate. We are now facing virtual learning and we gave up our aftercare slot.
Really stressful and don't know how we will manage when school kicks in again. BUT on Friday I got news that my younger cousin had to be revived twice and a hereditary heart condition discovered that requires cousins and our kids to get checked out. In the moment I realized that this shall eventually pass and I am so grateful for our health and how well our little family has coped so far. Before Friday I was putting all kinds of pressure on myself.
Just know you are definitely not the only one. Join whatever fb groups you have in the neighborhood and reach out to mom friends to see what they are doing and if you can get in on their pod. Be kind to yourself. Also, take a mental health day or two. One for sorting out this home stuff and the other for your sanity.
This is completely uncharted territory. It sounds to me like you've already been doing a lot.
Maybe form a quarantine pod with some families that have tutors and see if you can split the bill/time?
I can totally relate. But as others have said, give yourself a break and a chance to breathe - none of us saw this coming and it’s impossible to plan for the unknown. I reached out to parents in my son’s preschool and some responded, others were silent, some reached back out. It’s a huge undertaking trying to figure out how to educate your kids and do your job in a pandemic. Just know you’re not “behind” - anyone who appears “ahead” doesn’t even know what they’re ahead of. You are doing amazing and don’t let the Perfect Pod Moms get you down! You’ll find the right solution for your family, even if it takes awhile. Lots of love and solidarity to you!
I hear you. The people who could use the most help have the least time to organize it. Hang in there, we all feel like we suck right now - you have amazing company :)
I’m a single mom and feel Your stress OP Just getting my pod together now. Starting to research a nanny or part time tutor and dreading remote learning the fall. You aren’t alone. Hugs.
