I feel you on that. I've been with my company 18 years and feel stagnant. I've looked at other places, but because of my pay I'm almost stuck. It's a tough spot for sure.
It definitely is a tough spot! My pay also makes me feel stuck.
Been there. Most of the time, it's in our heads, though. I've left companies where I thought I had real value and they replaced me before my tea was cold. You should do what is right for your well being and future.
Thank you!
I understand how this can happen. Your company must have a good work culture to get your loyalty like this. If it were a toxic place, I don't think you'd have stalled on seeking or grabbing better opportunities.
It’s a pretty good place. Recruiters reach out to me and I’ll do the interviews but typically it’s the pay that keeps me from jumping.
I can understand how you feel about it going forward especially in the fast pace world we live in right now. However , I feel like great opportunities arrive to those who wait and you staying loyal and working hard would surely lead you to such opportunities . Good luck !
I hear this from people I work with who have been there 20+ years 🫣 Now, the reward to job hop is greater than the long game. IMO.
That is absolutely a true statement. You have to ask yourself why do you stay? If you can do more and make a bigger impact somewhere else, by all means, find your happiness. Don’t stay in a static environment that will have your job posted before you can clean your workspace out.
