I feel like training has become much more sophisticated at my company. When I first started in the position, there was about 2 days of classroom training and then they threw us to the wolves. Now there is like two weeks of classroom training, followed by shadowing, and then going on their own. The jury is still out on whether this is more efficient or whether its some advanced form of coddling.

What do you do when there’s absolutely nothing going on at work? The projects I’m working on are all in production, and I’ve raised my hand several times about taking on new work, but there’s nothing right now. Don’t get me wrong, the down-time is nice…but I’m hungry to make stuff.

Am I being paid competitively? I have been the Onboarding Sup for my HR dept for over a year now and I’m being paid the state min for salary, which for CA is 62,400. I have not gotten a merit raise since the last 2 January’s, the state raises the threshold for salary folks. My company says that was my raise. Is this right? I bring a background from the clinical operations of my company, scheduling, field work, and what the average employee faces. I want to look else where but I’m not sure.

I'm in finance/tech FPA, looking to go back to the defense industry for a 25% increase in TC. But wanted to see if I should leverage the new salary with current company to see if they'll match.

Background: got a promotion at current company that didn't come with sufficient increase . After stating my case I was told it would be evaluated next October, which is what prompted the initial job search.

Current TC 103K [88/15], offer 125k base [+discretionary bonus].

Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. What does the group focus on in terms of work, what are hours like, decent exit Ops, interview process etc?
