I got a call from a recruiter in Eli Lilly and Company for the principal software engineer role...
Then asked upfront my expected compensation which is around 40lpa.. After an hour I received another call, They pitched for a low bal figure of 29lpa, stock option and a lakhs of joining bonus What is the compensation range for this role?

I'm currently on £60k at a start up. Just got offered a job at a games company with a salary of £50k + 15% bonus 😖 I immediately spoke to them and told them that is way below my current salary and they raised to £56k + 15% bonus which would put me on £64.4k total comp. I've said I'll think about it and hope they raise the offer again.
Should I not consider this at all if they don't at least match my base? I have been aiming for £70k-£80k when looking at new jobs

Note that at MS, 2nd year bonuses in my group last year were 90-115K, while MBA associates received a pro-rated 90K stub (~40k).
