I got a call from HR and offer discussion was over couple of weeks back and still waiting for them to send me final mail to release offer. May I know if they take this much time to release offer, when I did a follow up call after 10 days they said they are waiting for some approval to release offer.

Yeah layoffs are happening everywhere.. But there has to be a logic or rationale behind why one is getting laid off.. It might be due to grade, package or role redundancy.. But I don't see any of the relevance for BNY Mellon layoffs.. Tell me on what basis you decide to layoff someone in early Jan when he / she has joined the bank in last week of Nov? Then why the hell do you take the pain of recruiting & spending some money on the resource? This seems absolute bullshit to me.. They say google, Amazon, FAANG, MAANG are laying off people.. I haven't heard such a case of laying off new joiners within record amount of time.. You could have very well contracted the position if you did not have clarity at the time of hiring.. If legal system was robust in India BNY would have faced multiple lawsuits for their foolish strategy.. Then they would have ended up hiring lawyers

Buddy - As I said its purely depends on your risk taking appetite.. Come over here with some backup options - Like money for survival if in case your are being laid off as frankly I don't see a really good pattern in deciding who should sacked.. The only visible pattern is that they layoff the new joiners predominantly.. Also if your network outside is strong, then join BNYM as if required you might have to float your resume for a switch sooner than expected
