I had a client come to me with a compelling offer to join them (double my MD salary). As an MD, how would the firm react to jumping ship to a client? They’d obviously want to retain the client where I’d be a key decision maker.

I look at the MD to Partner landscape and the firms overall performance and wonder how long it would take to get to Partner. Also and a new MD I am shocked by how little communication on the path to Partner is provided to the MDs.

I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups.
