Happened to me at Dentsu. They used it as an excuse to “lose” my annual review and deny me a raise and or bonus. Then I got to float around the agency until they got their sh!t together and assigned me to a new manager who barely talked to me for the first few months. Fun times.
What’s the deal with GUT? I’ve seen so many people work there for a few months and then get laid off

We used to have 3 Creative Directors and an ECD in our office. We now have 1 CD and 0 ECDs.

To be clear: I had a situation where my manager was laid off. I wasn't the one who arranged to have them laid off.
Too late! I was laid off recently. Hahahahaha
I was in a similar situation at a small agency but it was even more effed up. My manager quit without telling me. I found out after bumping into a drunk coworker on the PATH train one night. He said he was coming from my manager’s going away party. So the next day, pissed off, I asked the company president who I was supposed to report to. He told me that I would report to him. He was let go 2 weeks later. I quit soon thereafter. Only good thing about that job was that I got to work with the guy who plays Santa every year in the Macys parade. Funny fact: the Macys Santa is married to another Mr. Claus. Hope I made you laugh!
Pretty much same here and no plans to rehire… enjoy it?
Why did you do that to your manager?
Budget cut. I was supposed to get laid off. But I had to take a pay cut. Another staff just resigned. So hopefully the pay cut doesn’t go through.
This same thing happened to me. I’m now doing their job and I predict by spring, the GCD’s job too.
