I have 8+ YOE with a masters in Analytics, and I've managed a team within a smaller company. I recently spoke with a Facebook recruiter about a product analytics position and they said they are aiming for senior hires. They don't seem to consider me senior, but I do. Am I wrong?

Working many years in the industry doesn't make you senior by default. Try to read your resume as someone who doesn't know you. Is there anything noteworthy there? Does it speak to a time when you had exemplary leadership or took initiative and your analytics had huge impact?

Could a recruiter reading it think that you're a standard, run of the mill, "people ask us for data and we give it to them" worker?

Perhaps they meant senior managers? 8 yoe is definitely senior for an IC doing the same type of work

DE, DS, or another role? Org leader or IC?

My spouse having 12 years of exp currently holds two opportunities abroad at the moment. We are a family of three (husband, wife and a 1 yo)

One is a contract role (through a consultancy) in Melbourne, Au - 100k annual pay.. Other one is an On-site opportunity in New Zealand through an WITCH company, unsure of the pay right now.

Which one would be a better choice at the moment considering the countries and opportunities available, possibility of settlement etc. Also any insight on pay in NZ

Could anyone please provide me a referral for the ServiceNow developer role at Cisco? Total IT Experience: approx 8 years, Relevant Experience: 7 years.

Why is it so difficult to make the next career move within your OWN company. I have over 7 years of experience across multiple departments and yet an external company is more willing to give an interview to select roles than your own home company for the same role internally!!

Where is the loyalty in that !!??

I’ve been seeing all of the Instagram and Linked In posts from agencies in town showing their “commitment to transparency in hiring” and to hire more minorities in light of the BLM movement. I knew the numbers were bad, but holy shit, not THAT bad.
It’s infuriating to me, as a POC how many fucking times I applied, emailed and reached out to so many of these agencies without getting even the time of day.
I’ll believe their supposed commitments, when I actually see the results.
