I would bring it up to them honestly. I would let them know that you are a little wary and ask what changed that they are now able to hire you. At the end of the day you need to CYA…(I assume you know what that means being in product 😆). I hope this helps!

Yes be very open about it and ask what framework they typically use to determine layoffs, such as last hired vs remove under-performers.

The whole situation is a red flag. If you're currently employed and your company/industry is stable, I would proceed with caution if the company extends an offer.
-Unless they received a huge influx of capital, conditions within the company did not change that quickly.
-Was the initial reason for rejection a lie?
