Guys, I am APHR certified and practiced Organization Development for several years and I still had problems getting a new job after migrating to the USA. I have been researching and learning and what I found out was to switch career minimum; needed is education (first not not certification to show you have practiced new skills). This will lead to new skill sets which will lead into more experience.
I’m getting ready to start studying for the CPA exam. Wondering if anyone can give me insight on the difference between the Becker packages. My job is willing to pay a portion, which makes the lesser option look more appealing. However, does anyone know of the study material is dramatically different?
I just ordered my first Chanel! I never got myself a milestone gift before, but I just found out I passed my fourth and final section of the CPA exam, exactly one month before my 30th birthday. And I busted my butt for it, while working 50+ billable hours a week. I wanted to get something that will remind me of this feeling for years to come. I hadn't decided on a Chanel until I absolutely fell in love with the quilted Trendy CC. I'm ecstatic!
I've been in PeopleOps (mostly focused on TA Ops) for over 9 years now. I've somehow gotten by without a degree in HR or a certification, but would like to get some more education to continue to advance my career. What are your thoughts on PHR vs SPHR vs SHRM for someone with my years of experience and current role as a manager?
Can anyone help reduce my stress lol. I’ve been studying for the GRE since June(3-5 hours a day) and using multiple study aids(ETS/third party/tutoring) and i’ve taken 3 practice tests in the 320-330 range. I’m worried since i’ve been hearing quant has gotten harder lately on the official exam. Any advice? My exam is in two weeks. Aiming for Rice/UT Austin/Vanderbilt MBA. ORM as well.

1YOE in tech consulting and former venture capital intern. Any advice to transfer to finance (specifically data roles or portfolio associate in private equity or hedge fund)? I know it’s a little rare but saw some positions favor SQL/Python/AWS. Would any technical certification (AWS, Azure, Snowflake, etc) promote such opportunities?

Got a letter from NJ revenue saying I owe $3k for 2019. I am NJ resident and split my income between NY and NJ that year depending on where I worked. Does Hyatt Legal Plan cover this type of review? The spun of NY and NJ income equals my total income so don’t know what’s missing here

My joining date at EY GDS is on 26th of September,2022. By now, I have received a link to upload required documents and also I had a BGV process done by FADV. However, even after completion of address verification, I received a mail stating that my address verification was not successful and I was asked to share my permanent address. I did so and also uploaded my Aadhar as a proof of my residence . I have completed this more than two weeks ago but still didn't hear back. Is it ok?

Recommendation on places to buy work pants?
I just graduated from college this year and I’ve been blessed to receive several job offers. I obtained my dream job, but the salary as an entry level employee isn’t very sufficient. I received an offer for a remote position, so I was wondering if it would be possible to manage two full time jobs at the same time if one is remote and the other was on site. Of course, I would make both employers aware and seek permission. I would really appreciate the community’s thoughts on this.
I have been working as a marketing manager at a tech startup for 5 years and decided it’s time for me to see how other companies are working. I accepted a new job offer (40% salary increase) but the start up is really struggling to find someone to organize their main events. This would only take me max 5hrs/week. I decided to freelance for them as I can use the extra. How much does a campaign/event marketing manager charge per hr. as a freelancer? What is the norm for setting rates?

You can aim high, but it’s possible they only want her as a new staff since she has no tax experience. I know three people in my office who did tax at various Big 4 internationally (EY, Deloitte, and PWC) and they were seniors/managers, and EY hired them as staff 1 because they didn’t have US tax experience. This was pre-pandemic so maybe things have changed and she can get an experienced position.
Doesn’t sound like she has tax experience so probably staff
Staff 2 or Senior 1
She may get experienced level but should try to apply for senior. They will interview her and then decide which position may fit her.
Staff no way they can be senior without experience since they are setting themselves for failure
This is great advice everyone! I’m going to refer her as a staff she doesn’t have US experience yet so definitely want to just get her in the door
