It doesn't matter because potential employers just want you to have passed. Depends on your state's speed, state experience requirements, and your completion of paperwork.
Depends completely on the state. From A few days in Washington state to a few months in states like California and New York.
It could take over a year. The general requirements is 1 full year (40hr work weeks) of accounting experience sign off by an accounting expert (usually a partner). Then you have to fill out a ton of forms and send them all in. The CPA License people won't tell you if you forgot to send in a form, so if you go a month without hearing anything, you need to call and find out what's up. It was a slow and agonizing process for me. Then I got a reciprocal and had to fill out even more firms. The good news is all that stuff is online now.
I'm in California, I already have all my credits and my year of experience. Concerned cause I won't pass all my exams until October but I want out of here before another busy season
You don't need to be in California to get California license nor do you need to be employed to get your experience signed.
^So true. I took my exams in Oklahoma and got a Colorado license. Then I got a reciprocal to Texas.
