Hi fishes! My spouse is planning to go to India but we would need to get her visa stamped before coming back. I see that getting appointment is such a huge problem right now. Can we get her visa stamped from a different country? In this case, we were considering Qatar, she grew up there and has her brother there. For what it’s worth she qualifies for Dropbox in India. How do I find out if Qatar works in our case?Deloitte

Hi fishes, I got interviewed for CGI , CGI Communications Inc, 2nd February- technical round and 7th February- Managerial round. Till now, I didn't get any update from HR team. I tried calling Hr and dropped mails about the status. But she is not picking calls or replying to my mails. I tried calling the the person who setup L1 interview, she told I was not selected. What should I consider now, is my candidature on hold or should I think I got Rejected without any confirmation from HR team.

They're just buying more time. They don't seem to have intention to initiate visa process. I interviewed and got shortlisted directly for companies in both US and Canada. They didn't told me any such things. In fact they were willing to proceed with visa process right away.

A more profitable deal for me would be doing remote by registering a company in either India / Dubai as they will be giving same salary in India too. From tax perspective its very lucrative as I would have to pay literally negligible taxes if I register company in dubai. In India, normally taxes will go like 30% + 18% gst + 5% surcharge if I go with freelance. With company there will be little bit relaxation with gst rebate but still similar taxes. Even with that, considering cost of living and other convenience things, remote is still far more profitable!! However if I register it in Dubai, gst like tax there is 5% and tax on income is not applicable. So if I move there or setup my company there it will be definitely under 10%. Even if I do, remote through a registered company in dubai while sitting in India, it will hardly go over 35% as I can adjust my salary to take only what is required and can still invest rest of money in stocks. That's like a long term investment but I can get that money at only conversion rate after I close that company and transfer the assets in my name. So initial investment amount + profit - conversation charges -additional 10% ( as its income from company which is shutting down on foreign land and is eligible for certain tax relief) will be final in hand pay and if you do tax calculations it will be extremely less compared to just freelance option.
I do have this option on table by my future employer at will. So I can work for atleast 1-4 year in EU region and can work remotely after that permanently given that I'll figure out this taxation hell for myself!!

It would be very naive to trust an IT firm like Infosys, wait for H1b lottery, get it stamped or start Canada PR process. You're potentially looking at 1.5yrs from now as a best case scenario. If you really have onsite aspirations, start looking for opportunities for UK/Dubai/Singapore/Australia, etc.as they provide direct sponsorship. Keep your US process running in parallel.
If it helps (no offense to anyone) but I know atleast 3 of my female colleagues who didn't work hard. Didn't contribute into anything. Was never up for any client calls or anything. All they did is got married and all 3 of them went to US in these past 5-6 months. Flaunting on social media if they worked really hard. Now my manager is fighting for a pivotal role for her as she's there near to the client.
I mean what the hell! What about my hardship for last 4-5 years. My skills, my understanding of their business. It's all a Lie.
So is Covid affecting all this? I suppose,no!

Seems like your manager is planning to switch 😂
A year if u are lucky
If they are really planning to send and assuming they have an office in the US ask them to apply L1 for you. Its much faster without any lottery and more chances to getting through
