Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

If it is your first round, then you can expect a very rigid interview, whereby people will literally read questions to you from a pre-selected list and won’t try to engage you in conversation. If you try to ask for clarification on any question that you are asked, all the interviewer can do is repeat the question, word for word. I’m not trying to scare you, but just be aware if the interview feels a bit awkward because the people on the other end seem like robots. (All this might feel easier in a virtual setting, but in person it was just weird.)
This happened during my interview process with California DOJ, and I’m told it is set up like this for initial interviews with ALL California state positions, supposedly designed with the intention of avoiding favoritism. Like I said, it can feel awkward at times, as the interviewers often pause to write down your questions without trying to have a natural back-and-forth exchange.
That said, having also sat on the other side of some of these interviews, it helps to stick to the 20 second to 2 minute rule in answering their questions and act as though you are having an actual conversation. Best wishes to you :)
Which section are you interviewing with? I’ve heard that the substantive portion of the interviews can vary drastically depending on the section. But from my experience, you can expect to be asked about your experience and qualifications (including metrics, even though you already had to submit everything in your written application) and be asked several hypotheticals. The hypos are more about testing your thought process and less about reaching the right conclusion.
