Unless you are in your 20s I’d be skeptical about the networking advantages of an MBA. Seems like a reeeeealy expensive way to hang out with young folks who are mostly trying to get a job like the one you already have. N.B., I haven’t been to bschool either, so that is just my impression.
During my recruitment, I met an ADC at Bain who went to INSEAD after a bit of time at Bain and then returned. He seemed happy with the choice. Since it's a 1-year program by default, that'd be a way to get the fun and large alumni network without losing so much time.
Does seem fun, but I don't think I could convince my SO or myself that another year of school (and lost income) is the best option to keep the same job if I'm enjoying it.
I wouldn't get one for the networking benefits, but at a certain level it feels like almost a requirement to have one, even if you have a PhD or MD. I haven't gotten one but sometimes feel like I should have.
Yeah agreed - lost income, and SO's are the worstttttt lol jk but yeah they are the two big factors preventing this from happening
