I have a degree in Marketing that I wasn’t able to use in a corporate setting. My corporate roles consist of Consumer Lending and Commercial. I’m ready to pivot but I’m not sure which direction. I have full intentions on taking a CSM-PO class in a few weeks. Im not ready to quit my job, yet. So I’m looking for advice on how to navigate this and get into a new role.

Im wanting to advance to a lead or supervisor position but I keep getting turned down because I don't have enough supervisory experience. I have 5+ years of experience in medical coding, 3 in medical records and 10 in accounting. I've worked mostly in smaller facilities where I've taken on a lot of roles under one title. How am I supposed to get the experience everyone is looking for if no one will give me a chance?

I’m disappointed with a recent offer from Salesforce. I know the base can go higher for this role and I am worth more than what’s being offered! Unfortunately the recruiter asked me my current salary and I responded but my current salary is an average for my current role (although I am a v.high performer per the last 2 years ratings) and could be the result of old biases. I know I’ll probably catch flack for this but feel compelled to say it anyway. I get really upset when I see parents teaching their kids to steal on the subway. I swear I’ve seen so many times a parent has their little 4 year old duck under the turnstile and open the door for them. It’s not just stealing $2.75 from the city. It’s stealing from the moral character of your kids. At least pay your way and demonstrate being a lawful contributor to society, kids ride free for a lot of stuff anyway
