Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.
Accenture - interviewing for Asset Management - Consultant. Coming from industry, made it onto ‘Skills Interview’ website makes it out to be an in-depth resume review. Any additional info on the process. Also, any tips moving forward in interview process, especially given industry - consulting transition. Thanks!
Bain & Company I have a second round with Bain & Company coming up at the DC office for Experienced Consultant role. Excited, but hella nervous. Recruiter said it’d be 3 separate interviews, all with Partners; 2 case, 1 fit. About 40 mins each. First round was 2 case interviews with Sr. manager & Associate Partner. Been a rough year, so definitely looking forward to this opportunity. I’ve been on the site and going through preparation and materials. Any advice or suggestions welcomed!
Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.
Fast forward two weeks, no communication. Recruiting was surprised that I was still chasing for this position, month later. Got to know last week that hiring team was continuing to interview candidates. Should I drop the idea to get hired? EY hasn’t rejected me yet.
Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?

Depends how much more, and what the other firm is. Your leverage in entry positions is not as experienced hires. Accenture is a great place to start a career, gain experience and cash out 3-4 yrs with a good exit. My advice would be to take Accenture if it's not more than ~15% and not Deloitte.
Accenture I a great place to provide you the foundation of your career. You will learn a lot here. Along with learning Accenture provides good perks and benefits.
Definitely Accenture CDP. One of the top programs out there for new joiners. I was also between offers and Accenture won out all things considered!
I started out at another firm and moved to ACN as a C, and from my perspective the CDP program is much better structured and organized than what I went through
CDP doesn’t negotiate. However there are many tangible and intangible benefits you can make work for you (I.e., certificates, Northwestern Kellogg classes, networking, etc.). Make a pros and cons list of each. If money is the bigger factor, I think you have your answer.
Need more info really. What’s the other company and offer? CDP should raise you up quickly.
Please go to the other firm
It’s so toxic here and all the analysts I know in CDP are trying to leave ASAP
Just wrapped up my first year in CDP, I really like it here and feel like it’s a great first job. Not a forever role but as someone who didn’t know what exactly what I wanted to do I like the opportunities I’ve had and most of the people I work with I really like
NYC
Accenture is a great place for early career! But they won't negotiate entry level (I did try when I got my offer)
If the other offer is less of a brand name, skip. If a better brand, why do you prefer ACN?
