Did 4 rounds of interviews. Last 2 with 2 partners at EY. Haven’t heard back even after 1 month. One partner even commented “you will be a good addition to the team”. Hiring manager gave EY email after her interview call with me.

Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.
I applied with EY for a Senior Manager role I had my first stage interview with a senior manager, which I thought went well as I got the partner interview 2 weeks later, and said I'll be contact within 10 day HR. This did not happen so I chased up. Today I received feedback from HR stating that the senior manager, who would have been my peer, said I didn't have enough experience. But the partner who I would have been working under did like me.
Is this normal with EY recruitment
Just got a job at Deloitte M&A in Atlanta and am currently looking to buy a house. Would you advise I buy closer to Atlanta or the suburbs? I personally want to be in the suburbs but I hear the traffic situation is quite bad. Current consultants in Atlanta, how much time do you actually spend in the office vs remote vs client site? Would you advise I try and stay closer to the office?

Ey recruiters are very disorganized, have you reached out to either of the partners or the hiring manager if they can provide you an update? They should have more power to push things along
Thanks SC1. Will do.
You might of slipped through the SAP SF implementation cracks…email every day before EOD or COB
I hear you. I feel sorry for recruiting friends. When system rollouts are rough, they get caught up in the middle. Giving them the benefit of doubt here. Being an architect and a product owner, it is a lot of communication and planning which unfortunately takes last position. Thanks EY1, all.
Usually you get the offer the second day or early next week after the final round.. reach out to the ones who interviewed you either through email or LinkedIn. Because they are the ones who are deciding if you get the offer. The recruiter is just a messager
Yep. Thanks EY2. Just did that. Awaiting response. Will keep this chat updated.
Wait if you join, same approach, a lot of good dialogue but far from results delivered or support. Join the EY fun fest of craziness!!!
Update to this situation: I got declined. They are going with another candidate. Almost 1.5 months on hold. Asked - 1) hiring team’s feedback to help with anything and 2) recruiting’s reconfirm if this is a real rejection. I’m not expecting anything back i.e they won’t care responding.
Moving on now to pivoting into Finance. Chased for a closure after such delays and confusion, and got it.
I had to reach out to my recruiter, because she never followed up lol the process goes a lot smoother if you reach out every 3 days or so.
I agree generally. But there comes a point where the diligent effort can be perceived as desperation. Not knowing the hiring team situation (like their friends are caught up in the war in Ukraine, they are continuing to interview others) can make us look insensitive. I’ll let them use those options and miss me.
It is for this reason recruiting job is critical to help present a fair shot as the potential candidate. EY isn’t the only firm to burn up all the energy. That’s my Friday soap 😀
