I have a quick question how do you deal with a manager with no experience or studies on hospitality ( referring to basic stuff on hospitality) i have been trying to work for the past year but the constant lies from he/she to evade the responsibility as a manager and now is looking for fire me giving false testimonies to the GM is my word against them.
I have more than a decade working in the business all around the world and is the first time dealing with this.

Good day,

I am willing to aplply this position in kitchen staff.

i had a similar situation with a manager to whom i had to explain how to use a centrifuge press (she refused to peel citrus/instruct new workers to even after i showed her the manual and explained and I ended up having to do it both ways to show the ownership the peel/pith made juice bitter even after straining) among other things. She was eventually let go because while the ownership had no experience, they became more hands on for observation after a few conflicts. They had a lot going on, but I'd say what changed the situation was that the next level up was specifically interested in determining what was going on.

IMO depending on the frequency and severity of the word of mouth, in addition to the duration for which this has been happening, the GM will either just have to preside over service/cameras more often to see whats up, or you have to make the choice to look elsewhere because it will almost always *seem* to be more convenient to lose one floor staff than a manager. If you are set on fighting, take communication only by text or email, screenshot any messaging between you and the manager on scheduling/staff apps, and identify camera fields and try to engage the manager in those areas when possible. If you have a time stamp when something obviously happened it will always help your case if the GM is even a little receptive.

Unfortunately, having gone through this fight before, I'd say it's very unlikely to be worth it because even if you are "right" the GM has a million reasons to fire you first, or even fire both if they're aware of a problem but just lazy. Too much stuff out of your control.

I have a Q that I worry is going to make me sound like a jerk, but want some opinions. I do strength training 2x/wk with a trainer who was assigned to me at a gym where I bought a pack of sessions. I don’t really consider myself “his” client bc the relationship is managed by the gym… but lately he keeps saying like “I can’t wait to see what my clients give me for Christmas” and I find it super awkward. I pay $150 per session for these workouts (cont’d in comments)…

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?

Do you think culinary school is worth it? I've been a waiter for a year but really want to be a chef. The people I work with say to just start in the kitchen and work my way up but I think culinary school might get me where I want to be faster. The cost is pretty insane though. Any advice?
