Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Have an offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role but it seems like this one requires 2-3 days in the office - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

Do the math and figure out what actually helps you get ahead. I have chronic health issues, and so the benefits to me are worth their weight in gold. It doesn't make sense to make a little more money only to pay all that money out in healthcare costs. But some people rarely use their healthcare, so that wouldn't be an issue for them.
Tempting cosmetic surgery is more of a problem wouldn’t you say lol… if the money meets but isn’t the problem … I would answer only to what is the most likely the issue? At the end of the day, the taxes won’t be as threatening as present job so the torment of any issue is resolved ? As long as it doesn’t affect anything in your favor I would do what’s best
This is what my mom does and she loves it. Pays less taxes, the company writes stuff off on their end as a business expense. She has her car and insurance paid for. As long as it evens out for you, it is not a bad idea.

One of the major factors when comparing offers is Healthcare costs. Premiums and deductibles can add up to 10's of thousands of dollars per year, and isn't something that you need to guess at.
I would do the math and see how much you will really be losing with the salary being lower. You might break even with the benefits.
