Easily yes. You net way more than $35k and don't get to live in a sh*thole city like SF.
I thought state taxes would make a good comparison. But not realy.
7.25 % in CA which will inevitably rise.
6.50% in AR which I thought would be lower.
That said, CA is in serious fiscal trouble, and it is only growing worse. Everything is CA is more expensive than AR.
Gas in CA is 4.90, in AR it's 3.00. Electricity in CA is 19.90 per Kw/HR compared to AR at 9.98 per Kw/HR.
Just these metrics mean everything costs more, housing, transportation, food, eating out.
SF is plagued by homelessness, open use of hard drugs, filth and the flight of businesses. Plus more earthquakes, wild fires. AR does have more tornados, so don't live in a trailer park.

You’re a gazillionaire with 150k in bentonville
For 400k you can actually buy a newish house that looks really nice with a 2 car garage in a suburb and enjoy your life. 150 plus bonus is plenty, and with a spouse or other person working, will do very well. I would say 150 in Bentonville is like 300-350 in SF

Def check out bentonville and whether it fits your living style before you commit
Definitely Bentonville. It's kind of a vibe there. Your money goes a long way.
You are about to feel rich comparatively in many ways
Half of you pay will got state income tax, not to mention FICA will get their share, and whatever other fees and bills. I would suggest that, if you do decide to take the job, to move into a small home that you can pay off in a short amount of time, and live there until close to death, when you need to sell it to live in an assisted living facility and pay in full you funeral costs.
In SF you need to bring in about 400k to live more comfortable, the suburbs around SF are more expensive , think $2M fixer
