With 10 yrs ex you should be shooting for something of base 160+ and 200+ initial equity grant
It’s not low for a Project Manager but you should realize exactly what a project manager is. It’s a super PMO role and no ownership over anything. There’s no career advancement, since you don’t get P&L experience.
You can get better exits outside of Project Manager - look at BizOps, SalesOps, Product, Marketing.
Manager makes like $140-160K base + $200K stock over 4 years with 10 years experience in those fields.
Is that in the tier 1 offices eg NYC it Menlo Park?
Is the PM role in tech or in business?
I know FB doesn’t have senior manager roles.
What is the vesting period for equity?
Either way, it sounds like a low ball offer.
You’d be taking a pay cut and the experience or work sounds more detail then thought leadership.
M5 ...I think the role matters a lot. There are many many layers to climb uphill and being an individual contributor you have to do all the work yourself( which is fine). My career aspirations coming in as a big 4 SM makes me strive for ownership and leadership roles. FB doesn’t really care for your previous pedigree. If you are able to get the opportunity to interview you have a fair chance . interviewed with Microsoft, Uber , amazon and FB
Yes, what city and also what type of PM role, all PM roles are not the same, especially in tech
Y’all think that’s low even if not in the Bay Area? Same thought (low) if t2 city offer from big tech?
For project manager it is fair offer. Last year it was 120k. Source - FB recruiter reach out.
I would not have gotten the call if it wasn’t for my 10 years of big 4 experience... don’t discount it but also can’t lord if at tech.
Did you take it? What group was this offer for?
So interesting to see basically the only person saying it isn’t too low is Booz Allen
I don’t understand how Facebook is not a step up from Big 4. Isnt it For MBB rejects and third tier school grads? Working for any of the AFGM i would have thought holds a lot more cache than doing grunt work at the Big 4.
I’m a second year SM ... I spoke to a director and she told me it’s a senior IC role ... some comfort there. Pay is still low. Worried that if I don’t move now I will have a worse uphill climb in a few years
Are they being inflexible? As I’ve stated before, I’ve seen folks getting better offers while being fairly junior (3-4 years total exp)
How much do you guys think I can push for?
Similar yoe here and FB offered 140+60k equity vesting over 4 as a non-technical IC role. Seems they don't pay well for non-technical roles!
HR is very tight lipped on levels. Any input is much appreciated!! Dilemma on if I applied for a position that is for much less experienced folks
Vesting for me was 4 years I think that is standard
That’s the thing ... I don’t want to leave a big 4 SM position and move to Austin for an “adequate” offer..... both in terms of role and pay. The work seems interesting enough though ..
Take it
Acn1 care to elaborate on why?
Not yet .... leaning towards not taking it.
I was offered only 35k RSP😡
