I have been trying to adjust in my IT job for more than 3yrs now, switched companies but not able to find peace. Work life balance, project allocation, day-night shifts and extremely tight deadlines issues will always be there no matter what. I have been a good performer so far but at the cost of my mental peace and over-work. Never felt settled. Worked more than general hours.
Maybe I don't know how to cope up and say No. Shall I be taking a break and think about future? I'm already 25.

I give massive kudos to all the parents out there juggling work and home life. But it’s starting to feel like I pulled the short stick by not having a kid. Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Has anyone received equity as contingency comp? I have a potential client with a founders dispute. He doesn’t have cash, and the other founder ripped him off and is now running the company. He wants to sue for equity and wants to pay me with whatever equity he wins. I’ve never done a deal like that. Is that even enforceable? CA law. The startup is actually quite promising.
