Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

You’re 51, nearing retirement ish, just find a job your passionate about especially if you don’t have kids to support or any dependents. Now im not sure about your financial situation… but if you’re debt free and have no need for financial pivots or moves then just find any job you enjoy that pays decent so its fulfilling. Its not like your navigating your early career life so enjoy what you want to do. I’ve known people in finance who end up just going into marketing or a creative space or just a coffee shop employee for fun ( you’re not getting a second life, you live once so just say fk it, and you dont owe another corporate company more years of your life)

You won't know until you leave, unfortunately. I left a company after almost 10 years and have struggled to find a place where I'm willing to stay that long again. I miss the culture and the benefits that my old company provided, but I've grown so much professionally that I don't regret my decision.
I hate changing jobs, but haven't found a place that's been as good of a culture fit.
Depending on the role, skill set, and company practices, you may want to consider the fact that being laid off after 15 years is likely to come with significantly better severance than if you move and are laid off in a year. Not trying to be negative, but it’s a brutal market and I know plenty of people that are staying put for the severance protection.
It doesn’t sound like the real question is whether leaving after 15 years is “allowed” or not - plenty of people do that.
It’s more:
stay in something that’s proven and stable, or take a shot at something that actually feels more engaging at this stage of your career
The risk isn’t just the new role - it’s also what happens if you stay and keep feeling that pull to do something different.
Feels like this comes down to how much weight you put on stability vs doing work you’re actually excited about now.
