I have my start date at new company on January 7th, when should I put papers? Given Christmas holidays and stuff in between.. do holidays count as notice period ?

Strategically you should do last day some time the week of Jan 1st so you get the week of paid holiday too

likefunny

Yup. Best time is holidays. Take a week off for yourself to reboot as well

like

yea, it does.

Always take at least a week between jobs to reset. You don’t want to go into the new gig completely jaded from the last one.

Ironically I'm also starting a new company January 7th. I have PTO the week before Christmas then holiday Christmas through New Years and PTO through the 4th. I'm gonna do my last day as the 1st so I get those free holiday days and so I have less days without insurance.

Ironically I have a start date of Jan 7th as well.
I was thinking of putting notice in this week, but having my last day be the 3rd or 4th. Does it look shady to take those free holidays and then leave right after? Want to make sure I don’t burn any bridges

D4 no not shady, especially with a start date the following Monday. I'm doing the same. I told all my teams already the 1st week of December so they have time to find a replacement, so no bridges burned.

Also for Deloitte, assuming same across offices, insurance and most benefits extend through end of month you leave, so it also makes sense from that point to stay to January.

I have 100k to my name. I’m thinking of investing in by going in with 3 other family members and buying commercial units. I was taught to rent where you live and own your investments so your not tied to it and restricted. To give context I’m 22 years old, and I see other family members having a headache selling their home. My question is do you guys recommend owning where you live vs renting ?

I have $20k in savings, I owe $6,000 to my 401k loan, that’s the only loan I got. I am debt free otherwise except for my house. Should I use my savings to pay off? I initially took the loan to add to my home equity when I sell my house for a new house then covid hit.

Can someone explain the difference between FB’s Partner Solutions Manager and the Strategic Partner Manager? Feel like audit scheduling is always done on a knifes edge in that the timeline and staff schedules are enough so that if everyone works 60 hour weeks and no issues are identified then it can be filed on time. But even small things that increase the work can wildly throw off the schedule and cause hours to skyrocket for the staff on the job. No real point here, just ranting.
