I haven’t had a raise in 18 months. I have a review coming up in a few months. Our firm does not believe in raises - they push the bonus structure. I have been working my ass off - working up cases, for a couple settlements completed, and working another settlement. I need some advice - should I give them a number for a raise or let them decide and possibly undervalue me.

This is tough, and I think to get a meaningful answer you need to provide more information. For example, where is the firm, what is the practice area, is there an identifiable salary structure, if so then what is the salary structure (e.g., lockstep), how many years out are you, what are you making currently in salary, and what did the bonus structure add to your income, etc?

helpful

Interview elsewhere and get an offer and take it to your firm as a negotiating tool. Doesn’t always work but I did this last year and got a nearly 25% raise.

Capgemini has verbally promised me 9 LPA but the offer is yet to be released.
Deloitte India has not yet communicated any offer, neither verbal nor formal.

I am more inclined towards joining Deloitte India as it is a bigger position than Capgemini.
