Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient
Got laid off today at deloitte. Is anyone hiring

That’s awesome to hear about Target. My company’s been a bit rocky, some layoffs last year and now they’re quietly hiring again. It feels super unstable. I really wish they’d plan better instead of reacting last minute. Stability like what you described sounds like a dream!

It’s not always easy but it’s better than the alternative.
Our company is not too enlightened when it comes to layoffs, they've done them and not seemed to care all that much about avoiding them. Lately things have been okay but that's partly because we're staffed about as thinly as possible. Everyone is naturally concerned about what will happen in the trade war, but so far it's all just rumors and worries.

Yea, target is taking a beating between the misinformed DEI boycott and the trade war tariffs but so far we’re all still working and able to take care of our families.
That sounds great, but are you positive that is the case? I saw a post from someone on here recently saying they interviewed for Target and they were only hiring for a 90 day employment period. I'm guessing the boycotts have cost $$ and there is a threat of closures. I really hope that's not the case though.

I’m sure. We won’t see layoffs. And hiring pauses are part of what supports that. There are times where there is a need so they hire seasonal or on a 90 day trial so they don’t get roped into being overstaffed. But the current team isn’t seeing layoffs. Closers are always happening. The close in weak markets and open in strong ones. But it’s on such a large scale nationally that the people where there are closures only see the bad and don’t see the new store opening and vice versa.
This is one of the reasons I like Target as well. When I hear about people boycotting over the DEI misinformation it frustrates me. The people boycotting think it’s hurting the executives, but it’s not the executives loosing hours and seeing opportunities dry up.
