I heard a bathroom conversation about “trimming headcount” in my department, and names were being tossed around, including mine. After that, it's just been so hard to stay motivated or loyal, and I've mentally checked out. How do you stay focused on getting work done when all you want to do is work on updating your resume and looking for other jobs?

Received an offer from Amazon but I'm concerned about negotiating hard and ending up with an offer that's on the higher end of the pay band when compared to the rest of the (future) team. My concern is during an economic downturn, it would be easier to let me go if the team needs to be downsized. This would be because I would have the least experience on the team & more expensive to retain from a cost perspective.

Travel and TTC combo haven’t worked. After 6 months, the only offer I got included 4 weeks paid and FLMA only after 1 year. So 1) go and risk laughable benefits or 2) stay but risk TTC. So shitty 😭

Enrolled in an executive MBA program at a top uni, and I have to say I’m very happy I did that vs FT/PT.

I made a couple errors at a new job. An important document to be distributed had wrong information on it, which was proofread by 2 other people. Then a couple of typos in emails, the person micromanaging me told me to send out but I didn’t fix the errors. Failed to meet a deadline but completed 95%. I was written up over all this last week, fired this week. There’s a lot more to this but I think it’s because the DM doesn’t like me.
