I don’t know that it’s so cut-and-dried as that. For one thing, I have worked with more lawyers than I care to remember who are unapologetic dinosaurs when it comes to technology, legal research, or client communications. For another, teachers are being asked to do their jobs in a fundamentally altered context with little additional support—when they didn’t get enough support under the status quo ante. If teachers want to be seen and respected as professionals, shouldn’t we hold them to the same standard as other types of professionals?
