I know we usually only say TGIF but I'm feeling grateful that we go through hump day! 🐫 Last weekend whipped by as usual and I'm craving some time away from the grind. 🙏

Hey, there really is something to be said for getting beyond the halfway point of the week. Last weekend kind of zipped by for me also, I almost have to struggle to remember what I did. Makes me think maybe I should make some plans and make this coming weekend a little more significant.

Yes I'm trying to make the most of my weekend lately, I agree

Enjoy your time off.

Thanks, hope you have time off too!

I feel that OP. I always feel better when we get past hump day because that means that the week is halfway over and we are sliding into the weekend. Something about the second half of the week feels much easier than the first half of the week.

like

I get so tired in the latter half but then we have hope on the horizon at least! Lol

For people in this bowl who argued that volatility would drop as last week progressed, nice call👏! But curious as to what the thought process is, especially given the volatile earnings season, rising # of cases, weakness in improving economic data. Did not expect UVXY to fall as much as it did last well, can anyone explain if they expect this to continue these next few weeks/why this happened last week?

Hi!

I recently did a job interview and I made it clear to the HR my expectation salary is 60k a year, non negotiable.
Today I got the job offer and they are offering me 54k. My current company is making me 50k with tons of benefits which is why I am asking for 60k.

Should I accept the offer or renegotiate?

What do you do when you feel the goalpost has been/is being moved re: billable requirements? Like there's a spoken vs unspoken? I chose this job based on billables vs salary and what I'm being told I'm expected to do now is 20-30% (at least) > than what was initially agreed upon. Given my other life responsibilities, this is creating a huge strain & I feel like this is slowly getting harder & harder on my spouse & kids. I'm grateful to have lots of good work but not sure how to course correct.

Republicans... in hindsight, do you think it was a political miscalculation to have Pence on the ticket? Seems to me it would have been advantageous to have someone firmly in the Trump camp - like Alex Jones - as his VP to galvanize the base and put more daylight between the Trump ticket and Biden’s mainline political position. Thoughts?

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?
