I have been in this role 3 months as a manager, (total team size is around 15) and our group’s job is basically to interview, hire and manage consulting teams we hire to do all the projects running. For deal evaluation, to search and screen, transformation, tech, workforce and other strategy planning for markets, brands etc. AMA other than if we are hiring.

I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. However, tech consulting is definitely not my dream job. I want to get into data analytics, and I have an offer from a big company to do just that. I’ve only been at my current company for about 8 months, but I don’t ever see myself loving this job. How do I know when it’s time to make a change?

Thoughts on Wealth Management as an industry? Offered a role to work under a senior FA and eventually take over the book (~$800M AUM and growing). It sounds great, but I am worried about the disruption this industry is facing with Robo advisors and other low cost, DIY options.
