Keeping your assets low doesn’t limit the claims that someone can win against you. They can garnish future wages and property (including beach chairs). I really hope you’ve consulted a lawyer.
I’ve had three experienced lawyers all tell me the same thing, also I wasn’t suggested that I should perjure, I was more just saying in my own non lawyer opinion idk how they could go to someone not involved in the case and demand they return something that was gifted to them
Can we take a second to talk about this beach chair. What kinda features does it have? Little cooler? Backpack? Bluetooth speaker? Mini pillow!
LOLOL
Just sit on a towel for now
This is my favorite response I spit out my coffee
Wait what—- being sued? For what? And why do they care about a beach chair? Why are you spending 1,700 on rent, I make $126k and spend $1,000 on rent
Can’t you just transfer your assets to a trusted family member or put your liquid $ into a “business” account under a business you can create, so that way you don’t need to spend them down? I know a couple people who were sued and did this and it wasn’t questioned.
He got sued because he stole a bunch of sand to build a beach. He lives in Indiana.
Like I said… outsanding
Hahahahaha this is a very odd posts and then MF throws in and I’m being sued at the end I’m losing it
this is the funniest thing i’ve read today
You have zero savings?
The chair should be ok, or get one from Wally World for way less
What
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
Pay $170 for a finance / investment course. You need financial management help.
What did you do to get sued tho
….
I would take out a business loan for that beach chair and pay it back over 72 months at 5.5% interest.
Write it off as you rent it out. Oh and buy a Gwagon or 6k lb+ vehicle to write off all your earnings as well, OP
Such a specific situation ask lmao I love it
My advice: yes you can buy it BUT please open a savings account and don’t buy it until you have atleast 4x the cost of the chair in your savings account. Will happen pretty fast given your salary but is a good mindset to have moving forward… especially after you’re done getting sued lol
Thank you for “shutting up and answering the question” lol im hoping to have the lawsuit done by end of summer
I think we aren’t realizing that, somehow, OP probably has about $70k in net-income.
With $1700 in rent, and since they are not saving, OP has about $4K a month is discretionary spending.
And they are worried about a $180 beach chair…..
Don’t buy a chair, you can grow your glutes but doing squats at your desk. This also saves money cause you don’t need to go to the gym.
But without the beach chair, he will have sandy cheeks
Don’t buy the chair, they’ll ask for it as comp from the lawsuit
What is this post
First off, why would you need a $180 beach chair? You can get one for $20 at Walmart. Second, I would probably be focusing more on the lawsuit than a $180 beach chair…
Hahahaha true I guess to each their own. Enjoy the chair! Hope it gets lots of use this summer
