Please do not be offended by what I am saying I am just trying to provide some realistic advice. I am someone who was promoted to senior at 1.2 yrs and who has helped make the decision of when we thought someone was ready for senior. I agree that at 3 years you should be a senior, and that by leaving you could get senior but I think before you do that you should sit down with your reviewers and make sure you really understand why it has not happened yet. If for example it has not happened because there are areas you need to work on it’s so important to tackle those. Being promoted to senior can be external difficult when you are not fully prepared for the role and is even more difficult when you are given the role due to switching firms. On top of not really understanding your role, you won’t know the clients, partners, or expectations if you move to a new firm just to make senior. I am not trying to say that you are under performing. I just think it’s extremely important that you fully understand why you have not yet received that promotion before you go start looking someplace else for work.

You should be a Senior after 2, definitely 3 years .
I started at 55k in audit and am now 95k as a senior 3 years in. (Texas)
Yup sounds accurate. I started at 59k and now 98k base 3 years in. Higher col but also audit
Are you in accounting? Are you still a staff instead of a senior? And where are you located?
Thank you for your response. I am due for a promotion soon.
Interested in moving firms? Def should aim to be senior
I am thinking of it!
Detroit is LCOL or very Low MCOL. 76k as a third year associate is solid or high
Pro
Deloitte gives seniors 80k in MCOL so you’re not too far off
Though if you come to A&M, we can probably give you more. Our first year associates make 80-85 I think
Where in the US?
Low
