Yes for Deloitte Fed (Rosslyn Office) I think 100k is a reasonable counter assuming you have 3 or 4 YOE
I updated to say I have 2.5 YOE. I figure to counter high, and see what they can do.
I just think I may be slightly overpaid now (which I won't complain about), but that definitely makes it harder to get a sufficient offer to jump.
Coronavirus aside, 8% salary bump in 1 year is on the high side. Usually you’d get around 5-6% without promotion. With promotion it can be 8%, so doable. This doesn’t seem like a high enough raise in comp to move
I think you have your answer then
100k for 2.5 YOE is pretty high - it might actually make it difficult to staff you in some typical consultant roles bc your cost would be higher than normal. Unless you have a really unique hard to find skillset.
Not sure how they can promise 13% bonus - that’s performance based, and anyways, I’d like this year, bonuses will be smaller for us all.
90k is commensurate with homegrown salaries and higher for many first year consultants. 100k will have you overlap with the SC band for some as well (esp homegrown).
Thanks for the perspective!
Part of my issue is that due to my hiring date, I wasn't promoted to Senior at EY with the previous class and am more or less a Staff 3, near the top of my salary band.
So the bump for me is a little smaller than others with comparable experience. But this perspective is quite helpful. I was able to find a Deloitte GPS salary spreadsheet, and the salary feels more fair with that additional insight.
This is very fair with your experience and considering the bump.
90k as a consultant with 2.5 YoE is pretty standard and above the home grown pay
Where do you live? How much did you counter for?
My understanding is that Consultant at Deloitte is above Analyst and more similar to Senior at EY, so I felt the level was fair.
I'm up for promotion to Senior, but not sure if I'll get it with the current climate. If I get it, with EY's standard promotion raise I'll end up right at 90k, excluding promo bonus. I figure if I counter for 100k, they may meet me in the middle, but if not, at least I tried.
You’re valuing your network that pays you well at ~$6K if you take this lol.
I'll DM you with some more details. As I said, there is more to the story than just finance.
Any update on what happened OP?
