I'd recommend a book called The Shepherd's Life by James Rebanks. He's an English farmer who happened to attend Oxford on a scholarship, and he writes very well. The book is about the value of work, family, folklore, history, the rugged landscape where he farms, and a lot of fascinating animal lore. It's just a great read. His wife recently published her own book, and I'm looking forward to reading that.
Hmmm I'd recommend The Guest List by Lucy Foley. It's a mystery book about a wedding on an island where everything starts to go wrong for the couple and someone turns up dead. I couldn't put it down as soon as I started reading it, definitely a 5 star review from me!
Okay, I may have to take a few extra days to read. This looks like a good book.
The silent tenant!!!!!

A couple of excellent ones I have read this summer:
“The Heaven and Earth Grocery Store” by James McBride
Great story! A community of Jews and black residents in the 1930s in Pennsylvania. Murder mystery, but it’s not only about that. Funny. Sad. Love. It’s about community. Really outstanding.
“Master Slave, Husband Wife” by Ilyon Woo
Game-changer of nonfiction. The true story of a black husband and wife who escape the South dressed as master and slave. That in itself is unreal, but what happens after that is just as interesting. We need more stories like this of bravery we know nothing about.
“The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides
Murder mystery. You know who does it; you don’t know. It’s this person; no, it’s this one. Oh, heck, I’m just going to read it.
These three are awesome. My next one is Tommy Orange’s sequel, “Wandering Stars.”
Let’s hear what you’ve read!
Make sure you post your review. I hope you like it!

Is this an older book
, and can you tell me the author?
I just read The Women by Kristin Hannah and it was really good. It’s historical fiction about women in the Vietnam War. The Great Alone and The Four Winds are also historical fiction books by her. Also loved American Dirt-historical fiction about the cartel in Mexico.
I haven't heard about these books or author. I'll check them out.
