People are so scared for their jobs now they don't want to say it. Also, so many companies owned multiple outlets, getting yourself banned from one outlet could lead to a banning in 30 or more
I have seen this too. Speaking up feels risky when one wrong word can shut doors across a whole network. The fear is real, and companies know it. That silence is not by accident
I think the biggest thing is constantly communicating with anyone you're managing. Let them know their concerns are being heard and advocate up the chain of command. It's really hard to be middle management but a lot of times workers just want to be understood and feel like their voice matters. You might not be able to make massive changes but you can hear them and act on what they tell you. Be as transparent about what is happening as possible. Also, depending on the issue, brainstorm solutions to present as opposed to just saying 'hey this is a problem' to upper management.
This is spot on.
