Are you sure your signing bonus clawback period was 2 years instead of 1?
Yes, I know several people who have left and had to pay it back. Depending on where you’re going, you may have to wire transfer it before your last day (I think this is the case if you are going to work for an attest client). You absolutely will have to pay it back.
Yes you have to pay back if there was a term attached. Signing bonus may not have had one.
😗 dang. Well there was a term when I signed so that’s that
If you come in at a senior enough level, the signing bonus can be large enough that the clawback period is two years, and/or it is paid in two annual installments (eg half on your first check, half after your first anniversary). At least that is the case at Accenture; assume similar at D.

Was it a retention bonus? Did you sign something saying that if you leave before certain time you have to pay back any of it?
What do you consider sizable bonus?

Now you know the answer.
Stay 2 full years. Check and see how much if you leave after a year.
Yup, they will come after you since it was retention bonus.
