You take the new job
New job. You’ll just be in this position again next year
^^ agreed. They’ll probably stunt your next jump
Always leave if they offer to match after the fact.. they should have raised when first asked
Take the new job. Your heart decided to leave for a reason. Good luck!
adding to above- you’re now a flight risk to them so if it’s ever a budget cut discussion you’ll be the first thought
The counter offer is just to buy them more time to find someone to replace you because you are now seen as disloyal and greedy.
Go. Like that ex you broke up with in college at the airport over Thanksgiving break, don’t look back!
5* for the dramatic flare👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Statistics show that 50% -80% of employees who accept a counter offer leave their job within six months to a year. The problems will not resolve, even if they do honor your salary requirements.
New job
Never take a counter offer.
1. They should have paid you what your worth before the problem
2. You will now have a number/target on your back if you take the counter
New job
Accept the new job, and they’ll act like they’re doing you a favor.
Accepting counter offer never goes right, in my experience. Take the new role.
Been in this situation twice in my career - first time I accepted the counter offer, stayed and within 6 months
was looking for another new job (comp + benefits aside, there’s always other reasons you are looking). Second time I left and didn’t look back
Don’t be torn - this is an easy answer. Take the new job
Go, stats show that people that take the counter off to stay, only stay for another year
Always left, until my latest about 3 years ago. I accepted the counter offer and they made things right. Everything they promised was fulfilled.
Yeah you have to take the new job at this point
New job
