Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

I got a call from the Google recruiter about my L7 em interview Google She said I did overwhelmingly good on all interviews except one had mixed feedback on a system design. No surprise because it was not a good interview. The recruiter said i had a choice to go to hiring committee, give referrals they could call about my system design or take another system design interview. I’m not confident about the system design because of the bad experience I had with the previous interviewer. What should I do?

I haven't worked in 7 months and our house is up for sale, I'm not interested in reading reviews, I am looking to get back to work.
I completely understand that. When you're in survival mode, reviews feel like a luxury you can't afford.
Tough market right now, so many would bear a retur to work even if toxic conditions. You can always work there and do your minimum while looking for something better. At least you have income then and don't have financial worries. Personally for me, 6months womihout job, many interviews and just narrowly missing out on roles , it's difficult, but one must soldier on until you land something and then reassess the next tactic. Good luck
That's a practical take. Sometimes you just have to get back in, even if it's not ideal, and keep your options open from there.

I always check if they work in the department I’m applying for. If someone in another department complains, it’s not necessarily indicative of the experience I’ll have.
