This is my 1st switch after 5.5 years from TCS, I'm over comfortable in tcs.
When I decided to switch, I was ok and I got 160% hike. But now when I have only 1 week left in my notice period, I am a nervous wreck.
I want to back out of all these and remain in TCS itself.My family is not happy with my decision. Why am I like this?

Bro a strong suggestion. Take your time in joining a new one, but go for the right one. You won't be in a good situation if this issue recurs though. So try to connect via linkedin to find if the team is toxic or not.
I did not come across any such thing. But i have seen people who are very happy which is me and people who are unhappy. Reconciliation processes across industry have no life be it any company. Let me know if your looking for something specific. Employer pf and insurance is not part of the CTC but over and above it. You get comp off and double pay for Indian festivals. Work life balance in my department is amazing. Food is subsidized by 80% in the canteen. This year they gave lots of gift.

Market has crashed, and quick switches will always be an excuse for hrs to reject.
To be honest, 4 YOE and 20 lpa is quite decent right now. Getting 25 lpa and above will be tough if you don't know DSA. Startups will easily pay you if you crack the interviews.
My advice, lower your expectations for some time give interviews quoting 22-23lpa in good product based companies.
You can always upskill and switch again after 1-2 years when market is stable.

Update : Got an offer for 23 lpa (22 fixed) and going to join tmrw. Considering all ur thoughts on current market and upcoming recession ,I am not going to try for counter offers.

It's very rarely the company at fault. Mostly its the team and the manager who create the work environment with the client. But yes i have been one such company where i found most of the managers were toxic

Few months back, I put my resignation with 2 months notice period. Since I was onboarded to a client few weeks back only, they released me within a week. They never paid me for 2 months. I never asked for it. But somehow I did feel bad thinking how can they release me early without pay when I didn't ask for the early releasing!
But, since I didn't want to continue working there & have had some personal reasons, I chose to remain unpaid for the two months before joining a new firm!

yup i told to manager clearly ,pls release me and i cant serve np ,i need a break..manager accepted and so the hr team,they relieved me immediately .

I think currently companies are really reluctant to offer people positions who have very short spans in their previous company. I am switching after 1 year in my current one and getting grilled a lot for it.

Try giving interviews surely you will get an offer soon.
