My uncle I met a week ago suddenly died. He hid his heart condition from his wife, my aunt. He was having tea in the morning when he had a stroke. She did not have a last word or consider the possibility that he’d pass away so suddenly and soon. She is beating herself up over how he left and they didn’t have a chance to talk that morning. Fishes, sharing this so you call your loved ones today and not take people for granted.

My wife and I are both terrible housekeepers and our clutter is overwhelming us. We have two kids under 3 and a wonderful nanny but we need more help at home. How do we throw money at this problem? I know this isn’t a marriage therapy bowl, but my husband has a really terrible tendency of saying things like “you’re being really mean” and completely shutting down during a disagreement when i objectively am not being mean, just truthful or vocal about how i feel about something. It’s a really convenient argument for him because it enables him to either be the victim and me the villian, or forces me to concede my stance and not reach a true resolution. Last night I told my husband that I was thinking about getting my hair cut shorter - not short, but shorter - and wanted his opinion.
