I started a new job about 6 months ago and when I was interviewing I was told the role is fully remote, other than occasional team meetings and client travel. We just got an email that we’re expected to come into the office twice a week on weeks we’re not traveling for client work. Are other firms doing this? I have a pretty long commute into the office and honestly probably wouldn’t have picked this office if they had said this back when I was interviewing.

For them it’s PR for their new business, but I think they’re expecting me to work completely pro bono. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me.
