Part of making a good impression is having good boundaries with your professional life. Letting them know when you aren't available shows that you value your time as much as you hope they will value your time. I would give them your time off and let them figure it out 😊

You already did your part by making them aware of your holiday schedule. I would not cancel a holiday because they failed to account for your planned absences. This isn't your fault at all, they need to figure things out.

I've had something similar. You should sit down with them to discuss this but if when you joined they said they would agree to the holiday, they should honour it. I understand being worried about a good impression though, it's tricky!

You can just say you'll have everything nicely packaged ahead of your anticipated out of office dates. This will include a to-do list for the time you're out. It should reassure them you plan to take measures to keep things moving while you're unavailable. You already made plans and they were aware of the schedule. If they truly value you, they should respect the agreement.
Yes I can make sure all the work is organised beforehand. Exactly, I didn’t know this period would be busy and I booked the holiday way before I knew about this job.
Definitely don’t cancel your holiday. It’s in them for not accounting for your absence correctly. A good alternative could be sorting out a schedule of how to cover for your absence while you’re away.
Yes that’s true! Can make everything organised and prep ahead of schedule so whoever replaces me will know exactly what they can do.
