I think I need some uplifting. I turn 30 this month, never married and no kids. I’ve been dating (5 months here, 4 months there) & ending in a different way every time. The last guy I broke up was very emotionally unavailable and didn’t believe in communicating about emotions. Which is something I desire in a relationship. Should I feel scared at this point? I have the rest of my life in good shape, but I’m failing in the relationship category nonstop, and my biggest desire is to find my person.

Met my husband at 30 after numerous failed relationships. Almost 5 years later we’re married with a baby. Don’t settle and trust it will come.

This is me too!! Don’t settle!

Had a terrible breakup at 29 with the guy I thought was going to be my forever one. 30 was a turnaround year and ended up being one of the best years of my life that far. Dated casually but didn't find anyone serious. Met my now-husband at 34 out of the blue, married him at 35, had a kid at 37 and now 40 and pregnant again.

Just here to say I had my daughter at 40! We get along like sisters now that she’s 14.

Hold out for true love. Freeze your eggs. If true love does not strike in time, become a single mother. I married, became pregnant and divorced before my child was one. Best decision of my life.

Well to begin with 30 isn’t old. But try to remember it’s better not to be in a long term relationship that sucks, than to be single. Take your time! I’m 38 divorced, 2 kids, reallllllly shitty marriage. People meet in their 30s and 40s and 50s and find love.

I feel for you and understand exactly what you're going through. It is SUPER tough. After my college sweetheart dumped me in my early 20s, I spent the rest of my 20s being single and having short-term relationships. When I turned 30, I thought it was the end. I decided that I would just have to focus on my law career and get a bunch of cats. And I bought a condo close to the city in which I worked so that I would have a short commute.

Two weeks after I closed on my condo, I decided to go on a 20s/30s hike organized by a religious organization and on that hike, I met my future husband. We married 3 years later (I was 33), had our first kid when I was 34, and our second when I was 37. I ignored the pressure from my family who said my standards were too high and refused to settle. And when I was least expecting it (because I had stopped expecting it), I found my one. I hope you can have a similar experience!

In the end of 2018/ January 2019, I broke up with my boyfriend for 2 years who was married - not proud for dating a married man, but we knew each other since 2012 when he wasn’t married. We kept in touch during all these years non romantically, just as friends. When we reconnected, he convinced me everything is over between his life and him, and they are just living together as roommates until figure the divorce out. Well, it turned out that wasn’t exactly the case. After so much emotional drama and in middle of law school, I finally found the strength to end that relationship.

I started dating multiple guys during the next couple of months. I was 32 at the time. There was one guy I really liked but he was emotionally unavailable and still trying to figure out co-parenting with his ex life. Another one didn’t want kids. The rest of the guys I dated - the sparks just weren’t there. At some point, I was starting to accept that I might not find anyone and that’s totally fine. I had my summer pretty full - a summer associate position and a great internship for a federal judge and decided to focus on that. And then towards the end of June 2019, finally said yes to a Bumble date that I kept cancelling because of school work earlier in the year. Well, we had our first date on Monday, second date on Wednesday, third date on Friday and by Saturday we were inseparable. We moved in together in August and adopted a dog. Five months later, we were engaged and married eight months after our first date. I was 33 when we got married in 2020. We had our first baby a year later, and in 2023 we had our second. Now, I am 39 and we are considering a third baby. I never understood the words “when you know, you know” until I met my now husband. I am honestly so grateful it didn’t work out with all the jerks before him.

I reconnected with an old bf when I was about 32, two years later we’re happily engaged, soon to be married and baby on the way. It’ll happen for you!! I was in an awful long term relationship at 30 and thought well this is it cause I’m getting “old”, sooo happy I did not accept that son of gun’s proposal.

Please don’t settle, take your time. The right person for you will enter your life when the time is right!

It sounds like you’re killing it in virtually every aspect of your life. Have you considered counseling to identify what it is that might be holding you back in the relationship area? Sometimes Counseling gets down to the nuts and bolts of things we don’t realize are holding us back. Just a thought.

Get a dating and/or mindset coach. If this matters to you, then it's time to figure out what is causing the gap between a worthwhile partner and you. You can afford it, and it will pay dividends even in other parts of your life

I received an offer and asked about their parental leave. I don't plan on having kids anytime soon but would like to in 3-5 years and hope I can start a long-term career here. Was that a weird question to ask? The company initially responded that they are rewriting it so I didn't get much detail.

So far the only reason I’ve been told no is that “if you do then everyone will want to and then no one will be in the office” … how can I convince them that I work better out of the office and get this freedom & mental break for myself?

How much did you save before leaving your parent’s house? Either for the first time, or if you went back during early Covid.

Hi Parent 🐠 in Greater Boston area. Our kid is going to be 4 soon and we are trying to decide the right school district to move to. Any location recommendations? Any guiding principles? Any thoughts on public vs private school? And if possible, could you let me know how much you currently spend for home (mortgage, property tax, HOA etc.) per year and school (not sure what additional costs are there for public school but if private school, approximate tuition per year). Thank you!

Did anyone else adopt the new Florida Wonders curriculum? We just adopted it this school year, and I teach 4th grade. My team and I have not found a good flow, schedule, or whatever you want to call it. We feel like it teaches too many skills in one lesson, and we are not able to truly teach anything “deep” enough for students to master. Does anyone have any insight? What do you do? Do you like the curriculum? Why or why not? Would you be willing to share what you do weekly/daily? Thanks!

Thank you for starting this bowl! I just turned 50. I had my one and only child at 41 and went straight into menopause. My symptoms were perhaps confused with postbpatrum and nursing hormone symptoms but bow my hair is dry and frizzy yet somehow also oily and my skin lacks luster and I gain weight so easily. Working from home for eight months has definitely hanged my body shape and not for the better!

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. I’ve worked really hard and I’m worried our wonderful news will throw chances with this :(- also if I don’t get promoted pretty sure it’s up or out. Any advice?

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.

There are no projects & my PSP told me to get allocated into AX 2012 which is an older versiom of the ERP software.
I got an automated mail today saying:
"Any refusal to accept available assignments offered by WFM Manager or to participate in interviews will be viewed as failure to comply with instructions of management & will attract disciplinary action."
Will I be forced to resign if I do not join a random project?
