I’m looking online and see places for about $2800 which is what I pay now. I owned a home and sold it, and never want to be a homeowner again unless I’m a landlord. But not interested in the foreseeable future.
Pro
Try Campbell, Los Gatos, or Saratoga if you can. Will be slightly expensive, but beautiful places.
Otherwise, South San Jose has great options that will be close to the hills and are safe areas.

Why San Jose and not San Francisco? My friends who choose to live in South bay always complain that there is nothing to do there. They usually drive up to SF and hang out with me. Rent won't be cheaper in SJ as opposed to SF. Just some food for thought!

I live in NYC now, and like A2 said, there are better places to live. The Bay isn’t worth it

Have fun going to any social space (bar, club, intramural sports team) and having it be 95% dudes. Interned in San Jose for 6 months and it made me incredibly thirsty lmao

I’m a woman so that works for me
Why San Jose vs. somewhere like Denver or greater PNW
Rising Star
I’m from the PNW - love it in the summer but the winters/clouds make me want to kill myself.
Denver - mountains are beautiful but I think I need to be close to water and good sushi

4) Do you know the way to San Jose?
No advice but I'm rooting for you!

Try Southern California: San Diego or Orange County

San Diego. Cheaper than the Bay Area and fun.

Tons of jobs here in the bay area. 160k/year for 1 person is enough. Fyi rent’s gonna be ~2K/month give or take just so you can plan out your finances
That austin apartment is prolly baller af lol

I live in the Bay. I LOVE the Bay with the exception of San Jose lol. I think there are plenty of areas in the Bay that could offer a lot more than San Jose. Happy to DM if you’d like some more insight!

Isn’t it too hot to be outside for a big chunk of the year?
I didn’t know there were two. East Coast 4 lyfe🤣
What about LA?
I think it’s a really misunderstood city. LA gives you access to world class food, amenities, and beaches. I’d imagine it’s around the same price as SJ.

The point is, you get a better job in the bay are that pays you more because the opportunities are soooo much
