I truly don’t understand why a company would hire additional people at the equivalent of 1 new person everyday if billable hours and utilization are both under desired amounts. What exactly are all the hires going to do if the current team members don’t have enough to meet expectations??

If you don’t hire people you get gaps and if people leave, you are screwed

Also in public Accounting people leave at senior level so you need enough or you are running out of reviewers.

your place must not have a busy season thats nice

I see it sometimes when current employees lack a skill that is needed and managers are either lacking the skill themselves or don’t have capacity to train existing employees.

Sharks and other fishes,
I need some career advice,
In my current company I think the development portion I've been given is kinda simple, I've asked my manager and seniors to level up my work and stuff, *which they did* but I kinda caught up.. now what should I do, should I ask them to level up again or look for better opportunities
Also, I had some Interest in CyberSecurity and I grinded it on my pre-final semester at Uni, should I try on that path as well or should I stick to development?

Tomorrow is our last guest session of this year, so I’ll repost this here:
I recently joined a new business in the finance industry, and our team offers 3 complementary financial education sessions, at no cost and no obligation, open to the public. We educate people on basic to higher level of financials such as saving, investing, government registered accounts, etc. Highly recommended to everyone; you’ll gain valuable knowledge and opportunity to ask questions. Let me know if you’re interested
